Johnny says the door is white. He says that white doesn't mean white white. He says that "white" in painter talk, or in Irish painter talk -- or in Johnny talk, anyway -- just means cleaned up enough to stain. He says "white" means "white enough." That "like new" means "as close to like-new as you're getting, the door's ninety-three bleedin' years old for Jaysus' sake."
He said all that, and then he fell asleep.
