Bollocks

I just had a complete temper tantrum (shy of tears, but only just) and yelled at my husband, because he reminded me that I had to sand the woodwork before I stained it.

He was supposed to be helping Andy paint today but Andy work the night shift last night and so he's gone to bed. If only Johnny were gone like he was supposed to be I'd be staining already.

Bollocks. I hate sanding.

I don't know, either, if I'll have time to sand and stain all in one day, and I so wanted to have this project finished by Tuesday.

I think I need to make a packie run before commencing...

And after sanding, don't forget that tack cloths are your friend.

What are tack cloths?

I'm about to post, and when you read it you will see that I have not stained of yet.

And will not (as it turns out) be staining today...

Go to any hardware or paint store and ask for them. They are basically gauzy kind of cloths that have been treated with a semi-sticky substance, that makes them wonderful for getting off the little bits of loose stuff from sanding. They're cheap, and they prevent your stain from having all these little spots where minute bits of sawdust was on the surface.

Oooooh, wikipedia actually has an entry for it!

We just bought some and a pack of two at Lowes was less than a buck.
