Ha! You guys have some great ideas. Maybe I should sign up for the Houseblogs.net ad network too, so we can do this sort of thing more often. I'll look into that. In the meantime...
I have some favorites already, but I'm going to leave the contest open for another couple hours. Just in case anybody came up with something brilliant while they slept. To be fair to my Left Coasters, I'll leave it open until 10:00 am today their time -- which would be 1:00 p.m. my EST, if anybody's counting.
The Europeans should have been well-awake for hours by then. As for the Aussies and the Kiwis, well, if I understand time zones correctly, I think that puts the closing three hours before the contest opened. Sorry, mates!
In the meantime, I sure hope whoever wins is not too terribly sensitive to cat hair.
I took these pictures last night. I also took some with a flash, but they did not reflect the snuggly love. Or the urgency.
He really loves that thing. We've decided it's because there's a picture of a cat on it -- or, there used to be -- and this one can't beat him up him like Sister does.
So, to recap: I'll close the contest at 1:00 p.m. EST this afternoon. I will pick a winner and announce it first thing tomorrow morning. That would be Friday (except Down Under, where I believe it's 2008 already).
And coming this afternoon, especially for Sparkle: Johnny's mother's recipe for Christmas Pudding! If he says it's okay for me to post it. And if he can tell me where it is. Because honestly, it didn't occur to me to ask permission until I just spent twenty minutes looking for the thing and came up snake eyes. Hence the whole "if he says it's okay" thing. And also the "this afternoon." So we'll all just have to spend the day practicing our patience. It's good for us. Especially at this time of year, with Santa watching us and all.
No coal! No coal!
